ITINERARY
Cusco – Km 82 – Patallacta – Ayapata (14km, 6hrs ) .- You will leave your hotel around 4:30 am and we will travel to Km 82 to begin the Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu. The first camp is at 3,300 m (10,826 ft) and we will spend the night in comfortable tents.
Ayapata – Warmiwañuska – Chaquicocha (16km, 10 hrs ) .- This is the longest and most challenging day of the trail. You will pass 2 mountains in 10 hours of hiking: Dead Woman Pass, the highest point of the Inca Trail at 4,215 m (13,829 ft) and Runkuraqay Pass , at 4,000 m (13,123 ft) altitude.
Chaquicocha – Phuyupatamarca – Wiñaywayna (10km, 6hrs ) .- On the most beautiful and relaxing day, the walk is only 6 hours through different ecological zones. Today, you will visit archaeological sites such as Phuyupatamarca , Intipata , and Wiñaywayna , which is located at 2,600 m (8,530 ft). We will camp just 2 hours from Machu Picchu.
Wiñaywayna – Machu Picchu – Cusco (6km, 2 hrs ).- You will wake up early and walk 2 hours to Inti Punku, where you will enjoy your first and best view of Machu Picchu. After exploring Machu Picchu, you will take the Vistadome Panoramic train back and we will drop you off at the hotel around 7:30 pm.
